Help Heartland care for animals during the busiest time of year

In my 15 years in animal sheltering work, one thing has always held true - spring means the start of Kitten season, a time we dread.

"Kittens are cute, what's not to like?" you may wonder. Well, the influx of kittens and cats puts major stress on the shelter system. More animals means more illness/stress and a strain on the shelter's resources.

And it isn't just cats and kittens; shelters see an influx of all kinds of animals as people travel or relocate. Heartland will see a major uptick in strays and surrenders of dogs and small animals as well during this time.

Help me help Heartland! Your gift can provide the special care kittens and mother cats need while they wait for new homes, as well as supporting a successful summer of adoptions and animal care for pups and all other pets at Heartland.

Send me a photo and I will create an original artwork of your pet in a media of my choice - I love working in multiple medias, so you don't know what you'll get!
